CASTORS, ROLLERS AND WHEELS

Plastics for castors and wheels

The preferred plastics for castors and wheels have good stiffness, hardness and abrasion resistance on the one hand and the necessary impact strength and damping capacity on the other.

However, the plastic should not be judged solely on its E modulus and flexural strength. A high-strength and at the same time brittle material is less suitable than a tough plastic with a lower E modulus, but with high wear resistance. Fibre-reinforced types are therefore only used in exceptional cases.

In order to be able to dispense with a complex bearing of the wheels and castors, tribologically modified types are also used. We have already successfully used the following plastic types for wheels and castors in all possible applications.
