RADEL® 1000 (PPSU)
Radel® 1000 (PPSU)
Radel® 1000 is a polyphenylene sulfone (PPSU) made from the original Radel® R raw material produced by Solvay Advanced Polymers. Compared to the other polyarylsulfones Radel® 1000 has better impact strength and chemical resistance.
PPSU is characterized by extreme resistance to hydrolysis and therefore able to be sterilized almost indefinitely with superheated steam. For this reason, Radel® 1000 is used in particular for medical technology parts which are repeatedly subjected to autoclaving cycles.
Main features
- best hydrolysis resistance
- high impact strength
- heat deflection temperature 200°C
Although Radel® 1000 is an amorphous and therefore fundamentally transparent plastic, it is usually supplied colored. The standard color is black, other colors are available on request.
