HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE
High density polyethylene
(PE-HD)
The semi-crystalline high-density polyethylene (HD) has a mean molar mass of up to 300 thousand g/mol. The plastic has a high impact strength and by nature a very low coefficient of friction. The material is suitable for contact with foodstuffs and particularly suitable for mechanically low-stressed components.
PE-HD can be thermally formed and welded. The material can be used in injection molding, extruded as well as pressed semi-finished products are available.
Main features
- low density
- high chemical resistance
- heat deflection temperature approx. 40°C
