NACHT DER TECHNIK 2019
Nacht der Technik 2019
(Night of Technology 2019)
See, understand, experience technology
At the end of June 2019 the time had come again: on June 28, around 4 p.m. an adventure night with 50 technology hotspots started for over 5.000 people in Cologne and Bergisch Gladbach! POLYTRON also took part with guided tours through the production facility that evening.
Despite very summery temperatures, almost 100 visitors came to Zinkhütte 17 between 6 p.m. and midnight to get a look at the production process of plastics processing. The visitors were guided through the entire production process in one-hour tours and gained insights into work preparation, digital production control, machine programming and, of course, the production itself.
In addition, students of the Freiherr-von-Stein-Gymnasium from Rösrath presented their project "F1 in Schools Germany", in which they were supported by POLYTRON, among others. In addition, the training workshop was open throughout, so that young visitors could learn about the apprentice-ship Zerspanungsmechaniker contacting our trainees. In addition, they were also able to lend a hand and manufacture components themselves.
Did you know that some plastics can withstand temperatures from -270 to over 300 ° C? That POLYTRON parts are not only found in Airbus airplanes, but also in forklifts, dental drills or thermal imaging cameras? There was a lot of interesting and exciting things for our guests to learn about our materials - and - that plastic is not just plastic! (Photographer: Klaus Wohlmann; Copyright VDE / VDI)
What makes the "Night of Technology" so special? Who are the participants? Which guided tours, activities and trips are offered? More information can be found on the website of the initiators VDI and VDE.
(The next "Nacht der Technik" was planned on June 18, 2021. Due to the corona pandemic, the event is now postponed to June 10, 2022. Protection against infection in companies and among visitors has priority here!)
