FAREWELL TO THE SENIOR CHEF

Time to say goodbye ...

After half a century Bernd Henderkott says 'goodbye' to his well-deserved retirement

A few days before Christmas 2019, Bernd Henderkott, Managing Director of HENDERKOTT & RÖCKER KG, announced his retirement from active business life. For more than 50 years, the 'full-blooded' entrepreneur has contributed passion, determination and expertise to the company that he founded in 1969 together with Heinz Röcker in Wuppertal Barmen. Their business objective: the trade and mechanical processing of engineering plastics.

In the mid-1970s, HENDERKOTT & RÖCKER quickly became one of the best-known plastics processors on the German market. This was not necessarily because of its size, but rather because of the great manufacturing expertise with which HENDERKOTT & RÖCKER was sometimes able to make even the impossible possible in plastic.

In 1999, Bernd Henderkott bought the Bergisch Gladbach-based company POLYPENCO from the Dutch DSM N.V.. He repositioned the company, primarily using the experience and know-how of the employees to establish a successful family business. However, the company name POLYPENCO had to be changed for legal reasons. Thus, the sister company was given the name POLYTRON Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co. KG.

At the end of 2019, Bernd Henderkott left the management of his Wuppertal-based company and went into retirement. The management of the Wuppertal company was taken over by Fred Arnulf Busen, son-in-law and managing director of POLYTRON Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co. KG.
As part of the succession and the transfer of operations to POLYTRON Kunststofftechnik Verwaltungs-GmbH, the company was renamed HENDERKOTT & RÖCKER GmbH & Co. KG.
