EXPERIENCE FROM HISTORY
experience from history
In 1946 the American Louis Stott processed nylon, i.e. polyamide, for the first time into technically usable semi-finished products and based on this idea founded his company, the POLYMER Corporation in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA.
We were founded as a subsidiary of this POLYMER Corporation in Cologne in 1960/61, and at that time operated under the name POLYPENCO - POLYmer PENnsylvania COrporation - Gesellschaft für Industriekunststoffe GmbH.
We have thus experienced and partly influenced the history of plastics from the earliest beginnings. We do not want to push ourselves into the foreground. But it does show that we can look back on a very considerable period of experience with these still new construction materials. And experience seems to us to be one of the essential factors in the professional handling of plastics. More than 50 years of experience and knowledge in handling plastics that you as our customer can fall back on!
However, experience shows that nothing is forever and so in 1999 we were sold by our then owner, the Dutch DSM N.V., to the private entrepreneur Bernd Henderkott. He repositioned the company and used the experience as well as the knowledge which is mainly in the heads of the employees to transform it into a successful family business.
But we had to change the name for legal reasons, so that we now operate under the name POLYTRON Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co KG. And also the owner has changed again, but only within the family. In 2016 the second generation of the family has taken over the helm with Fred Arnulf Busen and his wife Christiane.
